Standards + FES | Bristol
Event Information
About this event
Standards is a two-piece math rock band fronted by guitarist Marcos Mena and featuring drummer Cam Mitchell.
Their self-described "fruity" melodies and technical musicianship have earned them somewhat of a cult following over the years, owed in part to band's proclivity for guitar-based video content. But the band's ebullient songwriting is the true source of their popularity among guitar-music fans, who laud standards for their uniquely danceable brand of complex instrumental rock. Since the group's inception in late 2017, standards have released two beloved EPs, played with the likes of Polyphia, Covet, and Delta Sleep, and toured in support of emo group Tiny Moving Parts.
FES are a thee-piece piece Math-Pop/Rock band based across Peterborough and Leeds, UK. Formed in late 2016, the band has quickly established a name for themselves with their frantic stage show, slick tempo changes and repulsively catchy indie-math-pop melodies. Inspired by the sounds of mid 2000’s math, FES are carrying on the lineage of bands like Colour, Tubelord and Fish Tank amongst a pop sensibility. Featuring Pollyanna Holland-Wing on guitar/vocals, Tom Holland-Wing on drums and Matthew West on bass. FES have shared the stage with Thank You Scientist, Delta Sleep, Orchards, Good Game, Hypophora, In Dynamics and DJ Perro amongst many others.
