Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983) is the thrilling conclusion to the original Star Wars trilogy, as the Rebel Alliance makes a final stand against the tyrannical Empire. Luke Skywalker confronts Darth Vader and the Emperor in a battle for his soul and the future of the galaxy, while Han Solo, Princess Leia, and their allies take on the Empire on the forest moon of Endor—with a little help from the heroic Ewoks.

Denis Lawson reprises his role as Wedge Antilles, the brave Rebel pilot and fan-favourite who plays a key role in the climactic assault on the Death Star. As the uncle of Ewan McGregor, who would go on to play Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequels, Lawson helped make Star Wars a family legacy.

The inaugural Crieff Film Festival runs from 8–10 August 2025, offering a weekend of film, creativity, and community spirit in the heart of Perthshire. This exciting new event shines a spotlight on local pride, with a special nod to Crieff’s own Ewan McGregor and Denis Lawson — two celebrated actors with deep roots in the town. Whether you're a devoted fan or simply curious, the festival is the perfect opportunity to celebrate their cinematic legacy.

Screenings will take place at Strathearn Arts and Crieff Hydro, featuring a vibrant mix of Scottish classics, family favourites, and standout features. Best of all, all screenings and workshops are completely free, and with every ticket booked, you'll be automatically entered into a prize draw to win an adult hamper or a children’s hamper filled with goodies.

We’re also offering free creative filmmaking workshops for children and young people, led by Scottish filmmaker David Barras (Electric Man).
