STARFISH - exclusive screening for Hertfordshire health professionals
Thu, 23 Mar 2017, 18:00
Sepsis kills 44,000 people a year in the UK. Raising awareness of sepsis could help save at least 30 lives a day in England. Please join us in our campaign to Stamp Out Sepsis.
You are invited to an exclusive screening of feature film Starfish, which tells the extraordinary story of one family's battle with sepsis.
After a sudden onset and rapid deterioration, Tom Ray lost all four limbs and parts of his face to the condition. The film is a powerful portrayal of the Ray family's survival in the face of a devastating illness.
Starring Golden Globe winner Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey) as Tom's wife Nic, and Tom Riley as Tom himself, Starfish features "two of the most emotionally charged and devastatingly honest performances of the year" (Movie Review World).
Please arrive at the cinema in time to be seated by 6.15pm. There will be a short presentation by the UK Sepsis Trust before the film begins at 6.30pm. The film will finish at approximately 8.15pm.
There will be an opportunity to make a donation to the UK Sepsis Trust.
