Event description

Description

Twinkle, Twinkle in the Park........

Northumberland Park & Sunderland Astronomical Society

invite you to join them on a special evening of stargazing from the park after dark.

Sunderland Astronomical Society are a dynamic, active, open and friendly group of local amateur astronomers with a mission to promote, inspire, inform, empower & advance the awareness & education of the public in the science of Astronomy and related subjects.

They are one of most active and largest astronomical society’s in the North East & will be sharing their knowledge, enthusiasm, and impressive astronomical equipment, so visitors to this event will have the opportunity to look through telescopes and given tips and techniques on finding objects in the night sky.

Stargazing is best on a clear night and this can be very cold in October in North Shields so warm clothing is essential and sensible footwear advised (for this and any outdoor activity in North Tyneside Parks).

Important note -

Public Entry is ONLY through the main park gates, on King Edward Road, for this free, after dark event.

- All other gates will be closed and locked from 6pm
