Event Information
About this Event
Val Bloom’s eagerly awaited Stars with Flaming Tails, an anthology of poetry for KS2 pupils, features illustations by Ken Wilson-Max, pairing two famous creative practitioners of colour in a wide-ranging tour-de-force, underpinned by verbal and visual diversity. Published by Otter-Barrry Books, it is available from 7th January.
Join us for a wonderful evening to celebrate. Make yourself comfortable, log in and relax for an hour of gentle poetry readings, illustration and conversation.
Manchester Children's Book Festival and the Manchester Poetry Library are delighted to host this launch event, which features CLPE (Centre for Literacy in Primary Education) Learning Programme Leader, Charlotte Hacking in conversation with both poet Val and illustrator Ken.
As with all of our children's poetry events, everyone is welcome, children and adults alike will find something of interest. All who sign up for this event will also receive a copy of a teaching resource, specially designed to use poems and illustration in the anthology as inspiration for creative work in the classroom and at home.
