Mankind just became an endangered species!
On November 7, 1997 Starship Troopers first hit the big screens and despite a slow start, became one of the biggest cult movie franchises of the last 20 years.
Sit back in the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium as we take you back to Klendathu. Be sure to pack your bug spray!
A corps of dedicated young men and women soldiers fight side-by-side in the ultimate intergalactic war: the battle to save humankind.
Starship Troopers is set in the future and follows a group of friends who join Earth's military forces after high school graduation. Their mission: to battle the insectoid Klendathu. One fights for the chance to be a renowned pilot (Denise Richards), one for revenge (Casper Van Dien), and one for the love of a good man (Dina Meyer), but interpersonal relationships take a back seat to the firepower levelled against (and returned from) the chitinous aliens. Paul Verhoeven's subversively humorous and thrilling sci-fi film is adapted from the classic science fiction novel by Robert A. Heinlein.
