Event description

Description

Join us at Pollen + Grace Presents; an evening of discussion and honest, open conversation. This week, we’ll be joined by a panel of incredible experts and professionals to share knowledge, inspire and open up the conversation around starting a business (the highs, the lows and all the things you really wish you'd known at the beginning!). With a focus on the food industry, we'll be joined by founders at various different stages of the journey, from just starting out to having successfully sold.

Joining us on our Start-up Panel Talk:

Daniel Land, Co-Founder of Coco di Mama

Daniel was the co-founder of Coco di Mama, London’s first Italian to go. He started the business in 2011, along with lifelong friend Jeremy Sanders, and went on to grow it to 20 stores over 7 years, before selling it to Azzurri Group, the owners of Ask and Zizzi. Before Coco. Daniel was an Investment Banker at Merrill Lynch having graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a degree in Maths. He now has no idea what he is doing.

Stu Macdonald, Founder of ManiLife

An award winning, single estate, craft peanut butter brand. Stu started ManiLife out of a rugby club kitchen, with 45 friends after graduating from Bristol University in 2015. A lot of hiccups followed until he finally quit an accountancy job at PwC to pursue it full time in October 2016. The only peanut butter brand to ever be awarded 3 great taste award stars, ManiLife partners with some of the UK’s leading brands in food including Cross Town Doughnuts, Hotel Chocolat, Gousto, Hellofresh and Waitrose.

Charlie Bowker, Co-Founder of Native Snacks

native Snacks is a London based startup on a mission to unearth new and exciting plant-based snacks from different countries around the world. Created out of frustration for the lack of excitement in snacking, their first snack is a range of Popped Lotus Seeds from India - a light, crunchy and better-for-you alternative to popcorn. Having only launched five months ago, it can already be found in stockists such as Selfridges, Daylesford, As Nature Intended, Eat17 and in January, they are launching into their first major grocer.

Stephanie Johnson, Co-Founder of Pollen + Grace

Founded in 2015, Pollen + Grace create 100% natural, plantbased ready meals which can be found in Co-op, Whole Foods and on Ocado. Pollen + Grace's mission is to make natural, plantbased meals accessible and affordable to all.

Hosted at the beautiful Grade I listed Royal Exchange, guests will receive a Pollen + Grace lunch box and kombucha on arrival, followed by the expert led discussion full of knowledge, insights and motivational stories. There’ll be plenty of time for a Q&A and networking at the end, so please come full of questions!

Doors open 6:30pm.

Panel talks begin at 7pm.
