Join us for a day of networking at the Business and IP Centre Nottingham!

A busy programme will include presentations on Social media for small businesses (i-Sourcer) and Funding and finance for your start-up (Santander) plus a live stream of the British Library's keynote speaker; Steph McGovern, Business Journalist

10:15: Welcome and introduction

10:30 - 11:30: Using social media to engage your market

Social media is increasingly key in reaching an audience. John Morley from I –Sourcer will be showing us how LinkedIn and Facebook Ads in particular can work for your business.

11:30 - 12:30: Making sense of funding and finance for your start-up

There are lots of funding streams open to entrepreneurs, but how do you work out what’s right for you? Rob Simmonds from national sponsor Santander will talk about debt, equity and alternative means of funding your business.

12:30 – 13:30: Networking Lunch

A chance to meet fellow attendees, talk to BIPC staff, our speakers and business experts.

13:30 - 15:50: Speed mentoring

Your opportunity to quiz our experts on a range of topics from researching your idea to finding your market and legal considerations. We’ll rotate groups round each mentor so you have the chance to hear from all of them.

16:00 - 17:00: Live stream of keynote speech – Steph McGovern

Live stream of keynote speech from the British Library Business & IP Centre, featuring well-known business journalist Steph McGovern. Steph has progressed from Black & Decker engineer to business reporter as well as fronting Watchdog, Pocket Money Pitch and Made in Great Britain. In the process, she’s been trained in lean production, explained monetary & economic policy.

The event is free but places are limited so booking is essential.
