10.30-12.00 - Five essential steps to starting your own business

If you’re serious about starting a business, Rob Town’s five essential steps will give you the clarity, confidence, and structure you need to launch successfully. You’ll learn how to avoid costly mistakes, turn your idea into a viable business, and build strong foundations for long-term growth. More than just profit, it’s about building a business that supports your goals, fits your lifestyle, and gives you the freedom to work on your own terms.

12.30-14.00 - Writing an effective business plan

A business plan is an absolute necessity for any business. It’s also a good discipline as the key headings in a business plan really make you think hard about all the areas you need to cover for your business to be a success.

MENTA Business, who deliver our Start-up Programme, will take you through the steps needed to create a robust business plan.

14.15-15.15 - Marketing on a budget: What every start-up should do first

Starting a business is exciting; but when funds are tight, knowing where to start with marketing can feel overwhelming.

In this practical session, marketing coach Rechenda Smith shares the simple, high-impact steps every start-up should take to build visibility, attract leads and start generating revenue - without wasting money on things that don’t actually make a difference.

Drawing on 20+ years’ experience working with growing businesses across Norfolk and beyond, Rechenda will break down how to:

• Create a clear, affordable marketing plan that actually works

• Identify your best customers (and how to reach them for free)

• Build credibility fast using social media and content

• Turn followers into paying clients with simple nurture tactics

Whether you’re pre-launch or just finding your feet, you’ll leave with a checklist of practical actions to grow your audience, brand and sales…on any budget.
