A two day workshop (9am - 5pm both days) for any creative individual based in the West Midlands, who is in the early stages (including just thinking about it) of setting up a creative business (in arts, design or media). We will cover all the essentials around your values, marketing, branding, financial management, intellectual property, your legal structure (e.g. self-employed, Limited Company) and your networks. By the end of the two days you will have an action plan of what to do next to really get your own business started, with further free targeted business support available if you go on to start trading*.
The course is run by Percy Emmett, who has extensive experience in supporting small creative businesses. He will be joined by guest speaker Vicki Smith, whose C.I.C. (Community Interest Company) Untappedme uses innovative, creative solutions to raise confidence and develop new skills.
The cost of this course is fully subsidised by European funding and as such there is no course fee payable for participants. Please note that due to this nature of the funding any non-West Midlands based individuals or organisations are ineligible to attend. For our event booking terms and conditions please click here
