Do I need to have started a business yet?

Not at all. These workshops are for people who are thinking of starting a business, or people who have started a business in the last 6 months but need a little help getting it moving. Even if you just have the beginnings of an idea, we're here to help.

What is a rural business?

We support any type of business that is based in a rural area, or those whose business mostly target rural customers. We understand that trading in a rural setting comes with different opportunities and challenges, we can help you address these.

Where does this event take place?

Accepted Answer

This is a virtual event on Zoom. If you prefer face-to-face, or if your internet connection isn't strong enough for a Zoom call, check out our other events taking place in rural community centres around Northumberland and Gateshead.

Is this open to anyone?

Accepted Answer

Our funding and expertise supports us to work with people who live in rural parts of Northumberland and Gateshead, or anyone starting a business that primarily serves these areas. However, if you live outside these areas, we can signpost you to the right service.

Is there additional support available after the drop-in session?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we can support you with developing your business idea via our mentoring and support programmes. Whether it's marketing, operations, finance or anything else, our advisors can work with you to help turn your idea into a viable business.
