Event description

Are you considering a career as a professional organiser (PO)?

Have you recently started working as a PO?

Or are you an experienced PO looking to refresh skills and grow your business?

Now's the time to get your ducks in a row!

APDO Association of Professional Declutterers & Organisers presents an introductory training day on Saturday 16 November 2019 at Resource for London. Open to members and non-members (over the age of 18).

Join us for a full day of training, led by two of the UK's most experienced POs: Juliet Landau-Pope (JLP Coach & APDO head of training) and Ingrid Jansen (Organise Your House and APDO Past President). All sessions will be lively, informative and interactive with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and share tips. Topics include:

* What do professional organisers do?

* How to work with clients and deal with specific challenges

* How to find your first clients

And much more!

Limited to only 12 participants and likely to sell out so please book early.

Cost: APDO members: £329 or just £279 if booked before 16 October 2019. Non-members: £399. All prices include VAT. (You must be a paid-up member of APDO at time of booking to be eligible for discount).

Includes lunch, refreshments and workbook for you to record your notes. Please advise us of dietary requirements and/or access needs at time of booking.

*APDO reserves the right to change training content or leaders, if necessary.

Sorry, no refunds. APDO may be able to transfer your booking to another event if we can resell your place but this cannot be guaranteed. An admin fee of £40 (inclusive of 20% VAT) will be charged for transfers. Requests to transfer bookings can only be considered up to 2 weeks before the event for which you book.

Here's what participants said about the training when it was first launched in November 2015:

"Thank you for a stimulating and fun day yesterday. I am utterly inspired and can hardly sleep for plotting! And thanks for your generosity and your welcome to the decluttering community. The venue and catering were also top notch."

Jules Greaves

"Thank you for a really excellent day. It’s informed me, inspired me and given me an enormous amount of food for thought (and work to do!).Very thorough and brilliantly delivered course content and it was invaluable to benefit from the experiences of both trainers."

Kate Smith

Is there an age limit to enter the event?

Yes, the minimum age to attend APDO training is 18.

What are the requirements?

This course is aimed at people who are just starting out as a professional organiser. You are not required to have set up a business yet. Trainers will expect you to enjoy working with people and to have some (but not extensive) experience of organising and decluttering with others, either for paid clients or on a volunteer/hobby basis.

How can I find out if this is the right course for me?

If you’d like to discuss the course further and explore whether it’s the right option for you, you’re welcome to book a short consultation call with a member of the training team. Please contact admin@apdo.co.uk to arrange a phone call (max 20 mins) at a mutually convenient time.

What is the refund policy?

Sorry, APDO cannot refund tickets but your booking can be transferred (please see below).

Is my ticket transferrable?

If you cannot attend the event after booking, you can transfer your ticket to someone else who is eligible to attend but must inform APDO at least one week before the event. APDO will not be responsible for the transfer of fees. An admin charge of £40 will be charged.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

There's no need to print your ticket - who needs more paper clutter? Your booking has been logged electronically and you will receive an e-mail to confirm booking prior to the event.

What do I need to bring with me?

APDO will provide a workbook for you to record your own notes and the training cost includes a light breakfast, buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day. All you need to bring is curiosity, motivation and positive energy.

Can I bring my own food?

Unfortunately the venue does not permit anyone to bring their own food. We will provide snacks, a buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know at least two weeks before the course.

Is there parking at the venue?

Parking at Resource for London is only available for blue badge holders (disabled drivers). Please let APDO know in advance if you require a disabled parking place.

Can I photograph or record the training?

APDO does not permit the use of live recording during training events but photographs can be taken before and after sessions. We may take group photographs and use them to promote APDO so please inform trainers if you do not wish to be photographed.

I'd like to join APDO to take advantage of the members's discount. How can I do apply?

For details of how to join APDO, please see www.apdo.co.uk
