Starting Out is a short course offered by the University of East London and Birkbeck, University of London. The course develops knowledge and skills to enable students returning to education to start your first degree course (undergraduate) with confidence. The Starting Out course runs on five Wednesdays starting on Wednesday 2 November please see below for dates and times. The course will be based in University Square Stratford, this is a new campus in the heart of Stratford which offers a range of University of East London and Birkbeck courses. Students are expected to attend all five sessions.
2 November 10am -12.30pm Educational opportunities – including pre-entry programmes that enable you to progress to university study & how to apply
9 November 10am-12pm Funding university study – understanding the fees system
16 November 10am-12pm Study skills – how to become an effective learner
23 November 10am-12pm Mini lectures – taster sessions from a range of UEL and Birkbeck courses
30 November 10am-12.30pm Mini lectures and presentation of certificates for those who have completed the course. Refreshments.
