Do you have a brilliant idea but need help to turn it into a great charitable project? If so, this workshop is for you.

About this event

This interactive online session will cover legal structures, leadership risks, case for support, and how to develop budgets.

This course is suitable for anyone who is setting up a community group, charity or social enterprise based in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Croydon or Kingston. Attend as:

  • an individual
  • with your co-leaders
  • as a new group
  • someone who wants a refresher on charitable trends.

This course will help you to:

  • Develop your project ideas into a draft case for support
  • Recognise different kinds of organisational forms and legal statuses
  • Identify the steps / support needed to build your idea
  • Plan ahead to counteract common leadership risks.

After the workshop, eligible attendees from Croydon and Richmond will have the opportunity to receive some one-to-one support after the session to help them further develop their ideas.

Additional information:

Richmond upon Thames/Kingston/Croydon resident – this session costs £10 plus the Eventbrite booking fee. This is a heavily subsidised rate for people who live in any of these three boroughs who want to develop a project that will support local residents.

VCS organisations from other boroughs - this session costs £30 plus the Eventbrite booking fee.

This session will be taught in English and requires a reasonable level of English. If you are concerned about this, please contact Richmond CVS on 020 8843 7945 or email training@richmondcvs.org.uk.

You can also contact us if you are unsure if you qualify for a place, booking for this session has closed, the correct ticket type is not available, or you have another training-related query.

Trainer's biography: Claudia Demuth

As an experienced coach and fundraising trainer, Claudia Demuth helps not for profits to set up, effectively deliver, and carefully reflect on their income generation / strategic planning approaches.

During the last 20 years, Claudia has supported a wide range of charities, social enterprises and sub-regional partnerships to raise funds from sources such as the National Community Fund Lottery, central government contracts, or independent trusts; acting as a critical eye for those wanting to set up great new projects. Currently an associate for Lloyds Bank Foundation; the Law Centres Network; Paul Hamlyn Foundation / School for Social Entrepreneurs and others; she uses expert coaching and action learning techniques to encourage people to think outside of the box.

Clients really value Claudia’s ability to quickly identify organisational stumbling blocks and ask hard questions with empathy which help challenge long-held assumptions whilst bringing humour and patience to this sometimes painful process. With 20 years’ experience in funding panels, commissioning, business planning and project management, she prefers to keep things simple and enjoys helping people to discover ‘light-bulb’ moments.
