Starting Your Novel: A 10 Week Creative Writing Workshop on Zoom
Event Information
About this Event
We're delighted to launch a new creative writing workshop on Zoom, designed for these Covid times. STARTING YOUR NOVEL is a 10-week course which will bring you together with other like-minded writers in a guided workshop format online. The course will be taught by London-based author and academic DR. LOUISE TUCKER and is aimed expressly at those aspiring to write longer form fiction. If you've been sitting on that novel idea, why not take the plunge this autumn during lockdown and join our supportive writing community?
ABOUT THE COURSE:
Have you always wanted to write a novel, but never had the time? Or, perhaps, you have an idea for a book but don’t know how to find your voice? If you have ever wanted to tell a story but are unsure how to begin, this course is for you. It will kick-start your book, giving you the confidence to find and shape an idea, write a first draft and learn the steps required to take an idea from draft through to publication.
Through reading and writing exercises, and by exploring books, films and songs, the weekly lessons will help you find your creative voice, build a writing habit that works with your daily life and develop that vague idea in your head into something real on the page. Take the first steps towards writing your novel in this encouraging and engaging workshop.
The workshop will meet online Thursday evenings from 6.30-8.30pm and will be limited to 12 participants. Dates will run from November 19th through February 4th with a two-week break over the holidays. Over the course of the ten weeks each writer will submit material for the group's consideration as well as give and receive feedback on their work.
Cost of the workshop is £295. For more information about the course structure and tutor, or to sign up, please visit our website: https://www.ink84bookshop.co.uk/workshops
