About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

We’re excited to announce the return of the Startup Connections: Networking Series for its second year- this time with even more to celebrate. In 2025, we mark 10 years of The Crucible, De Montfort University’s flagship business incubation programme supporting early-stage entrepreneurs across the region.

This engaging networking series is designed to encourage meaningful connections between Crucible participants and the wider local business community. It offers a unique platform for emerging startups to connect with industry leaders, potential mentors, and other established businesses.

This October, we're hosting a special edition of the series with a Speed Networking theme. This fast-paced format gives participants the chance to meet a large number of people in a short time- perfect for sparking new conversations, exchanging ideas, and expanding your network quickly and efficiently.

We’ll also be joined by Poonam Sharma, Leicester’s Barclays Eagle Lab Manager, who will deliver a talk on the importance of building and boosting your network in business. Her insights will provide guidance and top tips on how nurture connections that support long-term growth and success.

Hosted by De Montfort University, this event is part of the DMU Crucible programme, which offers mentoring, training, funding, and resources to help early-stage businesses thrive.

Whether you're a business leader, mentor, or entrepreneur, this is your opportunity to be part of a vibrant community driving innovation and economic growth in the East Midlands.
