At this special Inspiration Talk event as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2022, Student Startups are delighted to welcome two ‘Dragon Slayer’ entrepreneurs, Tristan Stephenson and Lerryn Clare. Both founders appeared on BBC’s Dragon’s Den and went on to raise significant investment for their successful South-West-based businesses. You will have the opportunity to hear about their business journeys and ask your questions.

About our speakers:

Tristan Stephenson – Founder of Whiskey-Me, a whiskey subscription box.

Prior to entering the den Tristan made his name in the hospitality industry as an award-winning bartender, author and co-founder of eight bars across Cornwall, Bristol and London.

Lerryn Clare – Co-Founder of Halto, a swimwear accessory business

With sister and co-founder Lucy, Lerryn entered the den with an innovative accessory designed to solve a huge swimwear pain in the neck (literally!) for women. As serial entrepreneurs Lerryn and Lucy also run coaching business Equinox, focussed on women’s enterprise and female empowerment.

This event will be hosted live in Penryn, and will also be available to watch online. You can come to The Deck (Streatham Campus) to watch the livestream or access it remotely.

Getting there:

The event will be taking place on Penryn Campus in the Launchpad Venture Studio building.

The Launchpad building is located opposite Stella Turk and can be found at location 9 on this campus map or via this Google maps link.

After the Dragon Slayers event and in the same location there is another session, run by Falmouth Launchpad, which will be an opportunity to network, enjoy pizza and hear about starting out as a freelancer.
