To help you build a simple but effective fundraising strategy, in this session we will explain the types of capital available for for-profit companies and break down how early-stage venture capital works.

This session will cover:

  • How to know what type of capital is right for you and your business
  • How equity investment works (and the difference between angels and venture capital)
  • How grant funding and other types of capital work
  • How to build a simple but effective fundraising strategy
  • How to approach the fundraising lifecycle, including timing, building and converting a fundraising pipeline

    Hattie is the co-founder of IfWeRaise, on a mission to connect underserved founders with the knowledge and network they need to get fairer access to capital. Alongside building IfWeraise, Hattie is a coach and trainer for accelerators, universities and a few brave corporates, and the host of the Not My First Guess Podcast. She's worked with thousands of founders, including supporting programmes like the UN’s Maritime SDG Accelerator, Amazon’s Sustainability Accelerator, and Hatch through her entrepreneurship education company GuessWorks.
