Overview

48 hours to build, test, and pitch your startup idea!

WHAT IS IT?

Startup Weekend is a whirlwind 48-hour experience that throws you straight into the world of startups.

Whether you arrive with a big idea or just pure curiosity, you’ll form a team, brainstorm bold solutions, build prototypes, test with real users, and pitch your venture — all in just one weekend. Along the way, you’ll get guidance from mentors, entrepreneurs, and industry experts who will help you sharpen your ideas and bring them to life.

It’s fast-paced, creative, and high-energy: the perfect way to challenge yourself, learn by doing, and see what happens when imagination meets action.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This event is for students, alumni, and aspiring entrepreneurs who want to:

  • Experience what it’s really like to start a business and test becoming an entrepreneur
  • Practice teamwork, pitching, and problem-solving in a fun, immersive way
  • Meet like-minded people and potential co-founders
  • Push themselves out of their comfort zone and learn new skills fast

No prior experience required. Just bring your energy, ideas (big or small), and a willingness to dive in. By Sunday evening, you’ll have a working prototype, a pitch, and maybe even the beginnings of your next big venture.

WHO'S LEADING THIS?

The Startup weekend will be facilitated by Yoon-Joo Jee, an awarded social entrepreneur, certified facilitator, and experience designer, currently Entrepreneur in Residence at City, University of London. Yoon-Joo specialises in creating engaging, hands-on experiences that empower people to experiment, collaborate, and transform bold ideas into action. She will be joined by a team of mentors and coaches who will help participants during those 48 hours.
