If you want to start a business, you need to learn what you don't know, and often the easiest way to learn is through listening to others' startup stories.
A lot of people talking about how to start a business but the best teachers tend to be those who have actually gone out there and done it.
Our startup evenings are informal yet informative events where we invite successful entrepreneuers to give us down-to-earth, honest insights on starting a business.
You'll have the chance to ask any questions you'd like, whether they are about strategy, tactics, tools, or difficult lessons learned.
We're thrilled to be hosting the co-founder of Spacious, an online marketplace to rent commercial property.
Tushar Agarwal co-founded the venture with Tom Watson and Rohan Silva (previously Senior Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister David Cameron and the architect of the Government's Tech City initiative).
Spacious recently announced £500k seed funding led by James Caan. Read more in the Sunday Times here.
About the Speaker
Tushar is an Economics Graduate of the London School of Economics.
After a few years working as an Investment Banker specialising in M&A, Tushar decided to make the leap to startups.
He went through Entrepreneur First, the only seed investment programme in the world that selects entirely on the basis of talent.
He believes that London is the greatest city in the world and is extremely passionate about making it a dominant hub for entrepreneurs.

“If you’re part of the Escape community, chances are that you work in professional services, law, accounting, finance etc. and are actively exploring ways out. However, the most common problem seems to be that we know we want to escape… but can’t quite figure out the best way to do it.
Quick story short: I was just like you. I jumped through the hoops at school, studied Economics at a good University, thought Investment Banking was my calling, got hired by one of the best firms in the world and realised a year into the job that I wanted out.
A year later, I was. I have been running a tech startup since I left and have never looked back."

“Spacious simplifies the process of renting office space by listing all types -- shared, co-working, standalone, serviced -- on one platform, handling the entire process, from finding a space to signing the lease. It was founded as part of the Entrepreneur First accelerator programme by Tushar Agarwal, a former investment banker; computer scientist Tom Watson, and Rohan Silva, former senior policy advisor to the Prime Minister.
