State Aid Workshop
Tue 29 November 2016, 11:00 – 13:00 GMT
This is a two hour workshop providing an overview of State Aid relating to the running of European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) projects.
Applicant organisations need to ensure projects are State Aid compliant from the outset and maintain State Aid compliance thereafter throughout the delivery of an ESIF project. This workshop will be led by EU/Competition expert Jonathan Branton and the team from DWF LLP and will apply to both European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and European Social Fund (ESF) projects. It will cover the complexities surrounding the investment of public funding into projects and the following key topics:
- What is State Aid including a background to the regulations
- How to spot and deal with State Aid
- Review of the Block Exemptions
- Ensuring ESIF compliance
- Common pitfalls and problems
- Avoiding clawback
It is advised that anyone who is planning or currently delivering an ESIF project should attend this workshop. It is aimed at project delivery staff as well as those likely to be involved in the project from the organisation’s Legal teams.
This workshop and the Leeds City Region L-CREATE Technical Assistance Project is part-funded by the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
