Event description

Description

This event is part of a series of events engaging voluntary sector leaders around the country in the State of the Sector programme. Join us to discuss what the future holds for charities, and how the sector can adapt to deliver greater impact in a changing world.

Earlier this year NPC launched Charities taking charge, the culmination of a 6-month research process that involved in-depth interviews, roundtable discussions and a survey of charity chief executives and trustees. Overall, around 400 charity leaders have been involved in identifying innovations and new approaches to overcome challenges facing the sector, on important themes such as trust, governance, digital, and the changing role of the state.

Following on from this NPC published Flipping the narrative, a series of essays from leaders in the sector discussing innovative ideas and how they are transforming their organisations. The event features several writers of these essays.

This event will feature a panel discussion responding to the research, of:

  • Debbie Pippard, Barrow Cadbury Trust
  • Sue Bent, Central England Law Centre
  • Stephen Hale, Refugee Action

The State of the Sector programme is supported by PwC, Barrow Cadbury Trust, Ecclesiastical, Odgers Berndtson, and Cripplegate Foundation.
