Event Details

What is this?

A peer-led statistics course for PhD students and early career researchers.

We are a group of PhD students and ECRs (mostly from Psychology ans Social sciences) who need to learn stats - so we meet once a week and take turns to present on key topics in statistics. If you are in the same boat as us, and want to get to grips with stats in an encouraging and supportive environment, we would love to have you join.

Eventbrite tickets are not needed but it really helps us to know numbers as spaces in our current meeting room are limited to 14.

If you have any questions, please email Emily at

Comment from founding member:

"This is a unique opportunity to (really) learn statistics. You guys will see that through your PhD, you will have to learn almost everything on your own, and the MVLS statistics courses are very specific and short (there’s no time nor chance to learn things in depth). Hence, having the opportunity to learn something new weekly through the Stats Club will boost your knowledge not only in statistics but in research methods and this will help with your PhD and also improve your critical thinking on research papers and peer-review."
