Event Details

Steer breaks the convention of the traditional audience/performer relationship and brings forward the importance of the scenography as a whole, in particular how an artist encourages a specific audience experience.

You may have already had a taster of Steer at DRHA 2010 as "Journey of Experience", at Thursday Club in Goldsmith or at TaPRA in 2010 and 2011.

The workshop introduces the advantage of having a clear artist intention. Steer suggests looking at an artist intention according to 4 different kinds of dynamics between the audience and the performance. These unfold tools for performance making and emphasize the importance of integrating the scenography as a whole.  We will practice the dynamics, discuss them, indicate how they are being stimulated and try to explore and push the boundaries of these dynamics.
This is a great opportunity to have a deeper exploration and understanding of Steer and Journey of Experience!

The FREE introduction sessions are on:
10th, 15th and 17th of August
Time - 18:30-20:30

Max 15 participants per session

Steer Workshops

I am an interdisciplinary performance artist and practitioner. My work looks into the relations among physical connection, presence and digital technology. I aspire to expand our understanding of space, its boundaries and how it affects human connection. I create spaces onsite and online and aim to create a connection among the bodies and their presence in the different sites. I look for experiencing the presence in “the Here and the Now” whether I work with virtual world, with the physical world or their combination. I believe that interdisciplinary collaboration can push further and open up the boundaries among different disciplines.
