Event description
STEM Accord Bringing together STEM Learning, Smallpeice trust, Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), Design and Tech Ass. (D&TA) and ERAF

About this Event

STEM Accord rests on the principle of partnerships. Instead of creating a new STEM Organisation; STEM Accord aims to coordinate existing well established STEM and educational organisations. The founding partners of this are Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), STEM Learning, Smallpeice Trust and the Design and Technology Association (D&TA).

STEM Accord's Bristol pilot is being launched on Monday 21st October at the Bristol and Bath Science Park. All teachers, careers advisors, and STEM professionals from Bristol and the surrounding areas are invited to attend.

There will be a free lunch (courtesy of the ERA Foundation) provided upon registration at 1pm, which will be followed by an introduction to STEM Accord with workshops provided by STEM Learning, Women in Science and Engineering, Smallpeice trust and the Design and Technology Association showcasing the activities they run in Bristol.

At the end of the event the STEM Accord Engagement Manager (Sarah Behenna) will be available to book appointments to meet you in your school to create your bespoke package of STEM activities for the academic year. In addition to this all of the activities available are aligned to the Gatsby Benchmarks, and when Sarah is helping you to create your bespoke package she will take into account the Gatsby benchmarks identified on your Careers and Enterprise Companies Compass report.

Sarah used to be a science teacher in Bristol and understands the constraints you're under, she will work between you and the STEM activity providers to make arranging STEM activities and reaching your benchmarks as easy as possible for you.

If you are unable to be released from your school there are tickets available for 4-5pm which includes a summary of STEM Accord and an opportunity to book a school visit from the STEM Accord Manager. You would however miss the workshops provided by STEM Learning, Smallpeice trust, WISE and D&TA.
