This event is by invitation for those people who have registered their interest in becoming a STEM Ambassador and completed the online induction.

These sessions are where your STEM Ambassador journey really starts. Come and meet us and other STEM Ambassadors to discuss your ideas and find out more about local opportunities.

After signing up as a STEM Ambassador, you will receive an invite to complete your DBS application. This can take up to 3 days to come through.

Before starting your application we recommend that you have at least 3 documents from this list to hand. We also recommend that you nominate an ID verifier from the list below, you will need their name and email address before you start.

• HR manager at place of employment (CIPD member)
• University lecturer/teacher
• Warrant officer and ranks above (or equivalent ranks)
• Barrister
• Lawyer/Solicitor
• Chartered accountant
• Legal executive
• Chemist/Pharmacist
• Member of Parliament
• Doctor/Dentist
• Police Officer
• Justice of the peace

This can be a work colleague or personal contact. The professionally qualified person checking your identity must not be a relative, partner, in-law, or step-parent

If you don’t know anyone from the above list, please select to have your ID verified by the hub. and bring along your selected ID to the Getting to Know You Session. We are only able to process this if the DBS Application has been completed in full.

You will receive an invite to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service application a week prior to the getting to know you session. If you signed up prior to March 2018, you may have already completed a DBS application through our old system in which case you will not need to do this again. Please check for a confirmation email from dbs@stem.org.uk if you are not sure.
