Event description

Description

This is a closed STEM Ambassador information session for those working in Food & Drink, Forestry, Farming & Fisheries. Please only apply if you have received an email invite.

STEM Ambassadors are volunteers from a wide range of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related jobs and disciplines across the UK. They offer their time and enthusiasm to help bring STEM subjects to life and demonstrate the value of them in life and careers. STEM Ambassadors are an important and exciting free of charge resource for teachers and others engaging with young people inside and out of the classroom.

This session is for those who coordinate STEM- related volunteering/outreach activities for their company or business. Attendees will find out how to prepare staff to engage and enthuse young people about potential careers within their sector.

Representatives from the 3 STEM Ambassador Hubs in Scotland will be present and provide information about activities and opportunities within their geographical area. As well as providing an overview of registration and induction to the STEM Ambassador programme the session will also provide details on enhanced training opportunities and where to access support and resources. Through show casing, the session will highlight the considerable personal and corporate benefits of being part of this long standing and highly successful volunteer programme.
