Description

What is a STEM Ambassador? What do they do? How do I become one? Come to this bespoke training session and find out!

Laura-Alexandra Smith (Science Connects) will be delivering a bespoke package of basic and advanced STEM Ambassador training at this training event for Strathclyde/OPTIMA/CMAC/TIC/PAC researchers. You will be able to sign up to the Science Connects mailing lists and submit your PVG form, either as a new or existing Ambassador. It is suitable for all Masters, PhDs, postdocs and academic members of staff who are interested in engaging members of the public with your research. Please share the event listing far and wide!

FAQs

Do I need to do anything in advance?

YES. Register Online

Before attending induction please:

  • Register online at https://db.stemnet.org.uk/login and click login then “Register as an Ambassador”.

  • Complete all necessary fields on each page, selecting the tabs along the top for different sections.

    • On the first page (personal details) in the field “Preferred sub-region” select West of Scotland (Science Connects). If you live in a different area and want to work with schools in that area please choose the appropriate sub-region.

You will receive an automatic acknowledgement from STEMNET and then a further welcome email from Science Connects. If you are invited to attend a training session at Glasgow University you do not need to attend this. Please reply to the offer of training to say that you are being trained by Laura-Alexandra Smith at Strathclyde University.
