Our introductory 2017/18 meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday 18th January 2018, from 4pm to 6.30pm at the University of Wolverhampton, City Campus and staff / pupils / parents and governors are welcome to register to attend

Purpose of SOW:

To raise motivation and aspirations in young people in years 11, 12 & 13 (KS4 & KS5) to continue with STEM subjects at school and in Higher Education.

Aim of SOW:

To facilitate, organise and deliver a range of engaging curriculum activities to inspire young people in STEM;

To increase pupils awareness of STEM careers;

To assist in building pupils self-confidence;

To prepare pupils for transition from secondary education to University life.

Activities:

The range of activities in this STEM club will allow pupils to make an informed decision about their future University courses and career choice. These activities will include: STEM subjects and dream career debates, competitions, laboratory experiments, workshops, taster days for STEM subject disciplines, keynote lectures from university academics and local industrial visits. Moreover, the activities will be linked to the curriculum to enable pupils to gain a better understanding of the STEM subjects taught at school while connecting to the real life applications and career paths. Pupils will also gain valuable experience which will be useful for their UCAS application and CV.
