Event description
Roller Derby meets STEM!

About this Event

Come along to this family event (parents / guardians and girls aged 14 - 19).

Roller Derby is the fastest growing women's sport in the world!

It is full contact on quad skates! It is very physical but also super tactical! Imagine playing chess on roller skates with people throwing bricks at you!

Many of women attending have played or officiated at very high levels up to the Roller Derby World Cup. It is rare to get such a high calibre of players together at the one time when not in formal competition.

These awesome women however all work in STEM. We have a trampoline lighting engineering, accountants, tank engineers, analytical chemist, RAF engineer, mathematical modeler (focusing on prison services), game developers, programmers, maths teachers and many, many more!

After you watch a scrim (game), girls will have a chance to speed network with many of these women.

Are you ready to be awed and inspired? Are you a female student in Key Stage 4 / 5 (14 - 19)? Come on, get a ticket, join us!

Teacher with groups are very welcome. Parents / carers are welcome but you can also drop off and collect.

Please note that filming and photography will be taking place.
