What do you do
to inspire you students in STEM?
Share ideas with other teachers about exciting STEM activites, then take part in a fun maths workshop to help you put the 'M' into your STEM club. This twilight event has been divided into two parts, to allow you to hear from other teachers (and present yourself, if you want to!) about their exciting activities before learning some fun maths tricks to take back to school and inspire your students. Light refreshments will be provided, and there should be some time to network with fellow teachers, STEM professionals, and maybe some STEM Ambassadors. See below for further details.
Places are free, but sigining up is essential. Please contact email@example.com if you have any questions.
Part 1: STEM TeachMeet
The main part of any TeachMeet is hearing stories from teachers and other education professionals about what works in practice. We want to know about what you do that makes your students interested in and excited about STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
During the STEM TeachMeet you can...
1. Give a micro presentation - 7 minutes to tell us about what you are doing to inspire students in STEM (book your ticket as 'micro presentation').
2. Give a nano presentation - 2 minutes to highlight one great STEM activity (book your ticket as 'nano presentation').
3. Be an audience participant – just come along, ask a few questions, drink the tea and soak up the inspiration (book your ticket as 'general participant').
This is a chance for education professionals to hear ideas from each other, a chance to hear about what can really make a difference. It is about being engaged and inspired by colleagues and finding out things from people you never would have heard from otherwise.
Part 2: Maths Activity Workshop
All those who attend will be able to take part in this exciting workshop. The exact content is TBC, but you will have the chance to try out some fun activities and will walk away with all the know-how to run them in your STEM Club or classroom next week. This session is perfect for anyone involved in extra-curricular STEM work, whether you find maths difficult to build into your STEM activities or just need something extra to highlight the fun of maths to your students.
Make sure you don't miss out - book your ticket now to come along, share some ideas, and get excited about maths! Please feel free to pass this link on and bring your friends and colleagues.
