Stemming the flow: How to reverse the northern brain drain
It has been found by KPMG that the number of 25-34 year olds in Lancashire dropped by 10% between 1993 and 2013, and Yorkshire and Humber lose as many as 55% of their university graduates. Without question, it is important that the North retains its educated workforce, especially to ensure the success of the Government’s huge Northern Powerhouse drive.
Join us at our fringe event, in association with Homes for the North, which will explore the worrying ‘brain drain’ trend from North to South, the causes behind it, its implications, and possible preventative measures in order to sustain the long-term growth and prosperity of Northern England.
