About this event

Science & Tech • Science

The year is 1900. Birmingham is a thriving industrial city and the University of Birmingham has just been established.

Professor Charles Lapworth, the University's first professor of geology, is preparing to introduce the weird and wonderful world of palaeontology live at the Lapworth Museum.

This promises to be an unforgettable event with an entertaining lecture from Lapworth himself on the sometimes peculiar palaentological knowledge of the early 1900s. Then we will be joined by a panel of modern-day experts from the University of Birmingham to discuss how science has helped to evolve our understanding of palaeontology.

Join us for an immersive evening of science, history, and delights of the Edwardian era. Period dress strongly encouraged!
