This is a special event celebrating the reopening of Craigievar Castle after restoration work in 2024. With its distinctive pink harling and elegant slender towers, Craigievar Castle is widely prized as one of the foremost examples of the seventeenth-century Scottish baronial style. In her poetry, Camille Ralphs recreates the world of Renaissance Britain, and its poets, prophets, dreamers and witches, with great panache. Camille will conduct a walking poetry reading through the castle, bringing her work to life amid its incomparably elegant and evocative interiors.
Camille Ralphs is a poet and critic and an editor at the Times Literary Supplement. Her poems and reviews have appeared in numerous journals, including the New York Review of Books. She is the author of several chapbooks, and her debut full collection, After You Were, I Am, appeared from Faber and Faber in 2024.
