Event description
Could you do with getting out for a walk more often? Opportunity to challenge yourself to walk (or cycle/jog/run/dance etc) during July.

About this event

Could you do with getting out for a walk more often? Opportunity to challenge yourself to walk, wheel, cycle, jog, or run ... or however you prefer to get around , during July. Or clock up some time doing some yoga, stretching, dancing, mindful movements, or whatever inspires you to enjoy healthy movement and activity. Register for this challenge and we will send you a Google Form link to log your efforts. Record your achievements as steps, miles or hours to suit yourself. You can estimate how much you have done or record with your own app, whatever works best for you.

How often you get out, and how far you go, and whether you walk, cycle, jog, run, or even swim, and/or clock up some time doing other exercise or activity, like yoga or dance, is entirely up to you. You will have your own goals that are unique just to you. You might just want to get started with more activity. Or you may be building on the steps or miles , or time you are already doing and want to continue with. You might want to mix it up with different forms of exercise. If you can get outside to get some fresh air and sunshine, and connect with nature in the process that could perhaps give some added refreshment?

This is your personal challenge. You register for the event and we will email you a Google Form to log your steps, miles or hours, and some emails during the month to remind and encourage you. If enough people get involved with this self challenge we will total up the steps, miles and hours and share these totals anonymously to celebrate all the effort and motivation.

As with all forms of activity please contact your GP or other healthcare professional if you are unsure about what level and/or type of exercise or activity is suitable for you. Please keep an eye on current Covid-19 restrictions for being out and about. Remember to plan ahead to ensure you stay safe, well and comfortable.
