In this workshop, Alessio and Jude present the main principles that IFS professionals need to understand and implement to start making their practice neuro-affirming.

Who is this workshop for?

We have designed this workshop for all IFS professionals with an interest in learning more about neurodivergence. Whether you have worked with neurodivergent clients or not, this can be your first step to making your IFS practice truly neuro-affirming.

You do not need to have any prior knowledge about neurodivergence and you are welcome to bring your questions and doubts to this space. At the same time, if you have been working with neurodivergent people and you would like a better understanding to elevate your practice, please come along.

You might want to listen to some of our "queering IFS" podcast episodes on neurodivergence if you have time.

Outline

We will look at the main burdens that surround our understanding of neurodivergence and that affect both therapists and clients.

We will also reflect on the language that is used by some neurodivergent people, and we will dwelve into explaining in detail one of the questions most people feel confused about: what do we mean when we say "Neurodivergence is not a Part"?

We are designing the workshop with the needs of neurodivergent people in mind. We will have frequent breaks and we invite all participants to look after themselves during these three hours on Zoom.

Zoom recordings will be made available for free to ticket holders

We will record the session and we will make the recordings available (for free to all ticket holders) on a dedicated learning platform from which you will be able to stream the videos and download the slides and other material created for the workshop.

Important

Please let us know, when you fill the form, if you have any specific needs to allow you to attend and enjoy the workshop.

Entry Criteria

Participants need to have a good understanding of IFS and need to be professionals who are working or are planning to work with neurodivergent people. We ask that people

1) have completed a Level 1 IFS, or an equivalent training like Stepping Stones, etc.

2) have completed a substantial amount of work with an IFS therapist;

3) have an IFS supervisor with whom they discuss how to implement the tools and ideas of this workshop to meet the specific needs of their neurodivergent clients.

Refunds

You can get a refund through Eventbrite up to 48 hours before the session. Please notice that, if you get a refund, you will not be able to access the recordings afterwards for free.
