Event description

Description

Birmingham City University (BCU), the Public Health Institute (PHI) at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), in partnership with Aalborg Anti-Doping (Aalborg Municipality, DK) would like to invite you to

"Steroid Use and Public Health: The Power of Visual Communication"

on the 14th of June from 12.45-16.30

Goal: showcasing visuals developed for use by healthcare providers, aiming to improve knowledge of, communication with and engagement with steroid and other image enhancing drugs (SIED) users.

The visuals will be revealed during the event and will subsequently be made available to healthcare providers and other interested parties. In addition to the ‘public health infographics’, artists have created visuals surrounding the theme of ‘breaking negative stereotypes around SIEDs’, which will also be available for viewing during the event.

During this event we have a range of guest speakers who are experts in their respective fields giving a series of talks regarding SIED use in general, the importance of the visualization of health messages and practical tips regarding working with this group of drug users.

The event is FREE but spaces are limited so make sure to register on time!
