"Steve" screening and Q&A - a film to help men battle depression
Event Information
Description
Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK - 12 men every day, that's one every two hours. One of those men was Director Ben Akers' childhood best friend, Steve. In this comforting and raw film, film-makers want to help men (and their families) understand that it's okay to not be okay, and discuss the ways we can all help ourselves be mentally fit.
Ultimately, this is a film of hope, trying to push us all on from Mental Health Awareness to Mental Health Action.
The film will be followed by a Q&A discussion with director Ben Akers, refreshments will be available.
This event is also raising funds for the Sunlight Development Trust, the registered charity which provides community based mental health support in Medway.
