International Welcome Programme January 2017
Date: Saturday 21st January 2017
Meeting point: Main gates of The University, outside John Smith’s bookshop, Cowcaddens Road.
Time: 9:00pm (9:15pm departure) – approx. 5.00pm
Stirling is historically one of Scotland's most important towns. Join us as we explore the town's colourful past!
First up, we'll visit the Battle of Bannockburn Centre - located in the exact spot where the Scottish army defeated their English copunterparts in 1314 to secure Scotland's independence. 700 years after the battle, the new 3D experience puts you right at the heart of the action!
After a lunch, we head onto the Wallace Monument (pictured at top of event listing). As well as providing awe-inspiring views of Stirling and the Scottish landscape, we'll follow the story of Sir William Wallace - Scotland's patriotic hero made famous by the Hollywood blockbuster Braveheart.
We will be stopping for lunch in Stirling town centre so there will be plenty of places to buy food. Please bring a packed lunch if you have any dietary concerns.
2. In person at the Campus Life Desk, Level 1, George Moore Building. We cannot accept £50 notes.
We strongly recommend paying for your ticket via our online store as it's the easiest and fastest way to secure your place on the trip - your email notifcation serves as confirmation of your place.
IMPORTANT - The only way to fully secure a place at this event is to first register on Eventbrite and then pay for your ticket. This completes your booking. If you are purchasing a couple of tickets then each person attending must be registered on Eventbrite first. We need Eventbrite registration to ensure that we have the most up-to-date attendee list.
