Stitch-Up Craft & Wellbeing Group
Event Information
About this event
If you've been feeling low throughout lockdown, fancy trying a new craft to support your wellbeing and mental health or just need some headspace to relax and get creative then this group is for you.
A fun and informal group for Leeds residents and a creative, welcoming and inspiring space to try new crafts, share skills and ideas with like-minded people or just take the time to work on your own craft projects if you wish. You'll have the opportunity to bring ideas and discuss what you might like to learn and we will support you along the way.
We will have some planned activities for you to try and to get us started, our focus will be on small projects where you can use up your odds and ends, scrap yarns and use things you may have around your home. You can also join with a collaborative spring/ summer installation to display at Meanwood Community Centre. We have lots of scrap yarns that you can use and we may also suggest some little tools that you can buy from our shop from time to time.
You don't need any previous experience to attend, everyone is welcome.
Free hot drinks & biscuits are included and you are welcome to bring your own reusable mugs and snacks.
This group takes place in our beautiful new studio at Meanwood Community Centre. The Stitch-Up Community Hub focuses on craft and wellbeing groups and courses for adults in Leeds and a holistic approach to helping improve everyday wellbeing, strengthen support networks, reduce loneliness and isolation and promote positive mental health through creativity and connection. Partly funded by Leeds City Council through Leeds Community Foundation. You will be required to fill in a short wellbeing survey after each group session.
We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone in!
If after booking you are no longer able to attend then please cancel your ticket so someone else can attend.
Stitch-Up CIC is a social enterprise and any profits we make are reinvested straight back into delivering our creative community projects supporting people to learn new craft skills and improve wellbeing.

COVID 19 SAFETY MEASURES - PLEASE READ BEFORE ATTENDING
We've put some extra measures in place to keep everyone safe and calm without compromising your experience. Luckily we have a lovely big, airy space so there is plenty of room to social distance and we have put the following measures in place:
* We recommend face coverings to be worn on arrival (unless exempt) and while moving around in the studio, but can be removed once sitting down.
* Sanitising stations on entry and exit of all spaces
* Extra cleaning and hygiene measures in place
* Smaller class sizes and socially distanced workspaces on tables
* Please do not attend the studio if you are unwell or have experienced any symptoms of Covid 19 in the 14 days prior to attending or have been in contact with anyone else who has had symptoms.
