Stitch-Up x Blue Rinse - Macrame Plant hanger workshop
Sat 29 April 2017, 13:00 – 15:30 BST
We are really excited to have teamed up with the amazing Blue Rinse Vintage in Leeds for a series of collaborative up-cycling and sustainable fashion workshops.
Come and join us for the first in the series to learn how to make your very own ball of yarn from an excess stock vintage t-shirt. Excess stock are items that arent quite the right quality for selling in the Blue Rinse stores but perfect for Craft projects and repurposing so by attending this workshop you are not only having fun and being creative, but helping the environment by reducing waste.
After you have made your ball of yarn, you will then learn some valuable macrame knots and techniques and turn your yarn into a beautiful and unique plant hanger to take home, complete with plant and pot to compliment. There is also an alternative ticket option if you want to bring your own small pot and plant.
As well as taking away a finished plant hanger, you will be leaving with skills that you can use to make lots of other items including jewellery and wall hangings as well as being able to turn your old tshirts into yarn. Macrame hangers also make amazing gifts for friends and family.
Relaxing and meditative, its a perfect way to spend your Saturday being creative, meeting new people and helping to save the planet.
The workshop is being held in our lovely studio in Thorntons Arcade and you will also receive a special 10% discount on any craft supplies purchased in our shop on the day. Drinks and delicious speciality coffees and snacks can be purchased from surrounding cafes in the arcade including Tall Boys and brought into the workshop.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and no previous experience is needed.
Tickets sell quickly so book early to avoid dissapointment.
Cancellation Policy: A refund will not be given if the cancellation is within 7 days of the workshop date.
