About this event

This workshop invites people of all ages to take part in the Stitching Ashbourne project and celebrate everything that makes Ashbourne special. In this relaxed, facilitated session, you can create your own appliqué and embroidered square to be included in our large-scale community artwork.

All materials are provided, and no sewing experience is needed. Just bring your creativity and enthusiasm. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Join us for a friendly, community-focused session celebrating stories, creativity, and the shared spirit that makes Ashbourne unique.

About the Project

Stitching Ashbourne is about community, creativity, and connection. Together, we will create a large-scale embroidered textile work that celebrates the built and cultural heritage of Ashbourne.

Surrounding a centrepiece depicting some of Ashbourne's most iconic buildings will be over 100 hand-stitched squares, each one telling a unique story, memory, or celebration of what Ashbourne means to its people. Whether you’re 6 or 95, this is your chance to stitch your story into Ashbourne’s history.

Come along, bring a friend, and be part of something truly special. Together, we’ll stitch Ashbourne’s story.

This and all Stitching Ashbourne workshops are free to attend. Donations towards the project are very welcome via our crowdfunding page. https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/stitching-ashbourne
