About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 15 minutes

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure that combines teamwork, creativity, and real-world engineering skills!

Working in teams of six, students will transform ordinary sheets of newspaper into solid, structural STIXX rods using a special hand-operated STIXX machine. With only these rods and reusable cable ties, each team will plan, design, and construct a giant 3D shelter large enough to fit all six members inside.

Just like Civil Engineers on a real construction site, participants will be involved in every stage-planning, building, testing, using, and eventually dismantling their structures.

For teams who complete the initial challenge ahead of time, there’s an opportunity to innovate further with features like doors, windows, or flagpoles.

This hands-on workshop is the perfect blend of engineering, imagination, and collaboration, offering a fun and engaging way to explore structural design and problem-solving through active, experiential learning.

This workshop is strictly for ages 7–8 only.

Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
