Event description

Description

Thursday 11th December, 9am-11am (with complimentary breakfast served from 8am)

Chaired by Iain Godwin, Godwin Consulting.

Guest Speakers:
Alistair Kell (BDP)
Mark Schumann (Schumann Consult)
Ray Crotty (Author of 'The Impact of Building Information Modelling: Transforming Construction' (2011)

The adoption of Building Information Modelling and Management (BIM) requires intense collaboration and the use of information which is readily available to all project participants. The development of BIM processes to truly capture the whole lifecycle of design, construction and operational needs is still early in its evolution and implementation. In response to these issues, this workshop takes a non-software specific approach to BIM, and looks to explore a building’s full information life cycle from design to development, and use. Invited speakers will address the use of BIM from the perspective of the architect, the manufacturer, the specification writer and the post construction performance assessor, as an attempt to focus on the nature of information development and the collaboration required.
