A statement from the Stockport Beer & Cider Festival:

Sadly, we need to let you know about some new developments.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we can no longer guarantee that the festival will take place on the advertised dates, at the advertised location.

We are meeting soon to discuss the issues, and hope to have a decision about the date and location of the festival within the next 10 days.

Please rest assured we are as upset about this as you are, and we are working to make sure our beloved festival can still take place.

Once we have more concrete information for you, we will announce it here. In the meantime, please do not make any accommodation or travel plans based on our original dates.

We deeply regret any inconvenience this has caused - organising this festival is a labour of love and many of us juggle work and other commitments in order to bring it to you, so we are also affected by these changes. This is not a decision we take lightly, nor is it one we have any control over.

We will be in contact directly with any customers who have made advance bookings, to discuss arrangements.

Our sincere apologies for this sudden announcement - once we are able to tell you more we will do so.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.

Stockport Beer & Cider Festival

With over one hundred and eighty British cask and bottle conditioned beers, plus foreign bottle conditioned beers and ciders and perries on offer to tantalise the taste buds Stockport Beer and Cider Festival is an event not to be missed. However the festival is more than just a beer and cider festival - great live entertainment is available in our separate entertainment suite, stalls, hot and cold food, souvenir glasses and T-shirts, tutored tastings and a cracking atmosphere all go to make the festival the premier event in the Stopfordian calendar.

New for this year - Mentored Tasting Tours.

Ever wondered why CAMRA are passionate about all things Cask?

Like to know why?

Our beer festival this year is offering the opportunity for you to be coached in the details of ale that has been conditioned in the cask. Explore the incredible range of styles and flavours, hear about the differences in hops and why great brewers avoid cheap techniques and ingredients

This is your time to explore the world of Cask Ale

We will provide a ‘Beer Ambassador’ to introduce the beers and answer your questions.

The cost is £15 (+ a small booking fee) and includes 6 x 1/3 of a pint reference beers, festival glass and a ½ pint beer voucher. The tours will be conducted by Bob Stukins - a past CAMRA National Vice Chairman from (2008-2015).

The Tour should last about 90 minutes after which you can continue to enjoy the 6 bars and entertainment.

Available Thursday 7:30pm and Friday 3:30pm only, booking is essential.

Advance booking is required for the Mentored Tasting Tours - Tour tickets do not include admission to the festival which must be booked separately (CAMRA members taking advantage of free entry to the festival must still book a ticket for the Tour in advance)
