Launching Stockport Social Entrepreneurs Network

A network evening for social entrepreneurs, community groups and anyone interested in social entrepreneurship. Come and find out about social entrepreneurship opportunities across Stockport, meet other social entrepreneurs and hear speakers from Equity Foundation, UnLtd and Stockport Council.

This is the first in a series of events hosted by Equity Housing and Stockport Council. As part of a joint project to support the develop of social enterprises in Stockport.

This event is free to attend. There will be light refreshments available.

Arrival from 5.30pm - 6.00pm
Welcome and speakers 6.00pm - 6.30pm
Networking - 6.30pm - 7.30pm

Roxanna Locke, Capacity Builder, Equity Foundation

The Equity Foundation lies under the Equity Housing umbrella and has a proven track record of delivering social value. The Foundation recognises that communities have the ideas, passion and resources to make society a better place.

Roxanna is currently working with groups across Stockport to support them into social entrepreneurship by providing one-to-one support and delivering workshops. Roxanna is also developing an online platform to celebrate social entrepreneurship across Stockport.

Alex Phillips, North West Award Manager, UnLtd

UnLtd is the leading provider of support to social entrepreneurs in the UK and offers the largest such network in the world. UnLtd resources hundreds of individuals each year through its core Awards programme. Alex will be discussing how she works with groups across the region and how the awards programme works.

Stockport Council is proud of the contribution that volunteers and voluntary organisations make to the borough. We want to help support growth in this area by announcing a new investment stream Ready to Grow that will encourage further innovation and entrepreneurship.

Ready to Grow will be a flagship award programme designed specifically for social enterprises where people can apply for up to 5k. Thad will be talking through the programme, discussing the application process and answering any questions you may have.
