About this event

Community • Heritage

This bike ride uses the former SDR line once we pass under the current LNER route and ends in what was known as Fighting Cocks, now Middleton St.George. On the way back we get to see the magnificent Brick Train, created to celebrate Darlington's important contribution to the development of the railways, in the North East, the UK and the world.

Route is on tarmacced surfaces, traffic free sections and along pavements suitable for riding bikes. Please bring a well maintained bike (or e-bike) with helmet, wet and cold weather gear and the odd snack. I have a no drop rule and we cycle at the slowest pace but please make sure you are able to cycle the 14 miles. It is mainly flat cycling.
