Some areas of London seem to be veritable hot spots for ghostly encounters. This walk explores one such place – Stoke Newington – to consider how the past seems to continue into the present in ways we are yet to understand.
Many of the experiences I describe happened quite recently, and we will explore them in the context of the history of the local area and theories of the paranormal.
The walk takes a good 2 hours. Please arrive five minutes early as I will be setting off on time. We will meander slowly around Stoke Newington Church Street to end at the Medieval St Mary's Old Churchyard.
I walk in (almost) all weathers, so please come prepared! As the crow flies, it's not a long walk. The terrain is mostly flat, with a few uneven and dark surfaces, and one busy road to cross. I take a max.15 people on each walk. Recommended age: 15+.
Meet me in front of the Fire Station on Stoke Newington Church Street (between Fleetwood Street and Abney Park Cemetery, see map and pic below).

I look forward to walking with you!
