Stool Upholstery workshop with Shoreditch Design Rooms
Sat 22 April 2017, 13:00 – 16:30 BST
This upholstery workshop will be run by Shoreditch Design Rooms and will introduce and demonstrate the different modern techniques involved in upholstering a basic wooden stool before allowing everyone to have a go themselves. Guests will prepare the frame, cut and glue the foam using a staple gun and then choose and apply the top fabric. Each guest will be able to take home a finished, bespoke stool at the end of the class. You can even bring your own fabric to use (backup fabric will be available in case yours isn’t upholstery suitable).
Designated by the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishings (AMUSF) as an official Training Centre, Shoreditch Design Rooms runs a variety of upholstery courses but also runs a working upholstery studio with clients from shops, hotels and fabric companies to interior designers, architects and a variety of private clients.
