Event description

Description

Award-winning theatre director, Hal Chambers, will work with a group of actors on STOP ACTING, START DOING, an active workshop aiming to make text feel freshly-minted, daring and alive. Hal Chambers has been directing work around the UK over the past 10 years. This a chance to get an insight into his rehearsal process which demands committed emotional intensity, a curious sense of play and a daring spirit. The overall aim to sharpen the actor’s instinct and ‘do’, not ‘act’.

The group will work with director, Hal, as a whole group, in pairs and on their own speeches. Please prepare one short (approx 1 min) speech for the session. Actors will be working on other carefully selected scenes and scenarios. Open to beginners, recent graduates and experienced actors who want to blast the cobwebs off. Dress ready for physical work.
